Registration is only required for those interested in playing in the soccer tournament of the Community Cup event. Participation in other activities of the Community Cup event is free and does not require registration.

Two types of soccer tournament registration are available: Teams and Individual.

  • Teams generally have seven (7) members. There are no limits to how many team members you have, but you must try to ensure all of your players get equal playing time in the spirit of teamwork.
  • Individual players will be connected to a team.

The Community Cup soccer tournament is a recreational, 7-on-7 co-ed tournament open to all ages 15+ with a focus on celebrating Ottawa’s diverse communities.  Thanks to over 25 TD Canada Trust staff volunteers, the games are judged by Spirit Judges; the points awarded by the judges help decide which team is crowned champion.  There are two trophies to strive for - the Community Cup and/or the Community Spirit Cup.

The Community Cup goes to the team with the best overall performance in combination with spirit.  Teams cannot win this trophy by simply beating the teams in goals; they must be also be a fun team to play (demonstrate fair-play, respect, non-aggressive play, sportsmanship, have some fun chants, etc).  Even if you loose in goals, you can win this award.

The Community Spirit Cup is awarded to the team that best demonstrates community spirit!  Whatever makes us smile, demonstrates good sportsmanship, engages everyone into feeling good about their game efforts.  No games need be won to win this award.
